Jura machines are generally well regarded, a friend of mine has two (one for his shop and one at home) and theyve been very reliable.

However our office machine (not sure of the model but its higher-end one, cost a few grand I believe) has been quite finicky and always having issues.

Hi Goonie and welcome to CS,

Jura are one of the best Superautomatics you can buy - but they are a Superautomatic and therefore require a lot of maintenance (or a regular basis) to keep them performing correctly.

They are far, far more complex than the type of machines most of us here use (generally semi-automatics, a few of us use automatics but very few superautomatics)....

Id suggest it is time for a full professional service of your machine and that will restore it to normal operation.

Whilst they are "push button" automatic coffee machines - they are all more expensive to maintain and require regular user maintenance (just like all other coffee machines) and also a professional service from time to time. *The problem with these machines is that most users dont want to spend the time doing the routine maintenance required...... as they just "want a coffee" and this will result in their rapid deterioration - just like any other machine.

Jura are the pick of the crop IMHO..... so get it serviced by a competent professional - and all should be good again....... and get them to explain the user maintenance you must do on an on-going basis.

JavaB youve answered the maintenance aspect but the OP says theyve been disappointed since purchase.
Milk and flow problems as well.

GOONIE did you not immediately refer the problems to the supplier and what was their response?

    TG,

I suspect GOONIE purchased the machine from a normal retail outlet (selling TVs, dishwashers, washing machines etc) rather than from a coffee machine professional like the site sponsors here..... *and as such it wasnt set up properly or checked prior to sale..... and little or no instruction would have been provided in how to use it.

    GOONIE,

Take your machine to someone who understands these machines (and there are several site sponsors who sell / maintain them) and Im sure they can sort it out for you. General retail outlets havent a clue..... and cant really help you if you have a problem.

Thank you all for your experienced insight into my problem. Is there anyone in particular I should take it to to get it sorted as JavaB is correct. I purchased it from Harvey Nortman Busselton for the holiday house and its turned into nothing but pain.
The milk holder does not produce hot milk full stop (only cold). If you froth then it will produce heat but if you want a macchiato then it needs to be heated in the microwave.

    GOONIE,

Perth is not a good location for coffee machine knowledge etc (I live in Perth).... and Busselton would be even more of a problem.

Ive sent you a PM with details of a specialist Jura agent here who can hopefully help you. They are located in Perth but at least they specialise in Jura machines. There are no site sponsors at all located in Perth so no help on that front.

Normal retail outlets know very little about coffee machines - even the cheaper domestic ones - but they are good at taking your money and will tell you anything you want to hear so you will part with it.

Hope that firm can help you.

For clients in Busselton and otehr retail purchasers, Jura Australia would be the first point of contact on ph 1300 552 883. They would initially offer telephone assistance.

If they determine that the machine would require a workshop visit then they would arrange a referral to Cafe Corp in Perth.

    Slighty OT.
FYI, Jura Australia Espresso Pty Ltd is now the Australian importer of Jura machines. The original Jura importer (Global Coffee) formed a joint venture with Jura Switzerland in July this year. Exciting times for Jura in Australia as the international company takes a financial interest in this market.
