Yes I have roasted this bean
Mild chocolate flavour good as espresso or milk based drink
    roasted to CS-8
    Taste improves after 10 days

    I liked it

I roasted some of these in my Gene Cafe roaster last Friday. About 15 min to FC, +4min to SC, then stopped and cooled. Colour is about CS-10. As I was short of coffee, I tried it the next day. It was quite good. In a latte, it had a chocolate flavour. Every day since, it has developed in flavour.

ok, roasted up some more yesterday. I did this lot a bit lighter. Hopefully I will have some success.

While roasting, I got looking at the green beans. There really are quite a few defects (as Andy did mention in the description) -cracked/split beans, black beans, pale, etc. It makes me wonder what impact this is having on my outcome - got thinking I could pull the defects, but seriously you would be there a while!!!

Ive had good success with this batch. Never less than CS9, usually at CS10. Chocolate, excellent with milk. Ive been blending with some Guatemalan and thats worked well with milk too.

It is typical for Mandheling to finish up a bit uneven....I did find that if I spent a few minutes sifting through and throwing out the worst looking beans, that my roasts seemed much more even in colour, so suggest you dont try and get rid of every bad looking bean, but it could be worthwhile trying to take out some of the worst ones.

As far as taste goes, I have always found mandheling to be relatively full bodied and with chocolate notes, although I havent tried any of the particular batch you have.

ok, I am getting somewhere now. Pulled at very start of sc, and they are much better than further in. Gone from very average to acceptable, but nothing special for me in my first 3 cups.

I have been roasting this bean a lot over the last couple of months. I did find it tasted best after 7-10 days like Cosmo said. So now i just make sure i roast ahead of time and i`m finding it to be one of my fav coffees atm.
