    Sumatran Orange Pekoe Superior (Tea)

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Now that I have secured a second batch of this tea (thanks Andy - super prompt service as always) I feel its time to tell the world how fantastic it is.

I like stronger teas, drinking them mainly with a dash of milk and a bit of honey. The lighter, more delicate varieties are not, er, my cup of tea. I like a tea thats in my face, in a good way (not like lapsang souchong - too smokey to be enjoyable, I reckon). This Sumatran orange pekoe superior brews up nice and dark, is very low in tannin so you can brew it for longer if you like, and has just the faintest hint of smokiness. Lovely. I sometimes blend it with my other favourite tea (a Kenyan broken orange pekoe) and feel incredibly spoiled indeed.

If my taste in tea resonates at all with you, I think youll really enjoy the Sumatran orange pekoe and I recommend grabbing some from the BeanBay while it lasts.

This is reviving an ancient thread I know...

Snared some of this last beanbay and collected it from Andy on Saturday at veneziano

Got myself a tea press on Sunday and am really loving this, parents even said it was really nice

Im finding it really smooth, bold flavour but slightly sweet as well after giving it 5 mins in the tea press, well worth waiting for it

While Mrs. KJM & I both prefer the Darjeeling, this is a pretty close second. Rather fabulous. Glad it is back in stock - daughter #2 absolutely loves this one!

Well - in one of those infinitely implausible interventions in ones life: Andy kindly put a bag of this in the "show bags" everyone got at Beanology :o

So now we have even more of this fine tea! Some of this is making its way with me to work ::)

The latest batch is either a different "lot" from last year, or my storage isnt up to snuff. It tastes a bit different. Very nice indeed!

    /Kevin
