    Sulawesi Blue Peaberry

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
shared a bag with Lemoo which was a great decision
Roasted to rolling first crack--250g dropped at 10 min mark.
brewed in CCD 22g to 250g water for 2m30sec--I was confronted with rich intense spice and stewed stone fruit, could almost chew it leaving an intense and lingering mouthfeel--will roast for espresso next batch

OK. I've given this some thought....forgive my ignorance...what is a CCD?

I quite enjoyed this bean as a ristretto and as a strong latte. Roasted in Gene 230 degrees til FC then drop to 225. Pull just before second crack (16 min 30ish). Goes v.well with the Sidamo Guji in a latte.

Ahhh...Thanks. I'd convinced myself that one of the C's stood for 'cold'. Sounds good. The Peaberry as a SO took me a little longer than normal to dial in on the grinder, but was very much worth it.

Trevor's been getting in to blends on filter, it's exciting. Is this the peaberry we cupped on Friday? Big cup!

Just roasted 250g on 1/2lb p2 c settings on the behmor.
Just at the important bit, I had to attend to children in the kitchen, and missed the end of first crack, and the start of second crack
I could hear it, and was watching it, but not able to record numbers.
Got to it as it was well into rolling second crack and hit cool.
Lovely dark beans, almost look oily now, prefer to take them to just starting second crack, then they might roll into second crack when cooling, gives a lovely depth to the previous roasts of png whagi, cuban, and sadomingo barahona.

Will see how it cups in 3-4 days.

Watch this mistake/ oversight/ unplanned learning roast/ space hehe

    Trains

    Ps, shaddup bobsta hehe

    Hey guys!

Just roasting 400g batches of this in my correto to now.

Heat gun is at the same height as basket turned to high.
    -first crack 15:30
    - rolling first crack 16:40
    - move heat gun away a bit
    -second crack 18:50
    -rolling second crack at 19:40

Is this too long for second crack? I'm getting a cs 8-9...
