    Panama Boquete Bajo Volcancito

    Hi All

Anyone have any roasting profiles/guides you can help me with one this bean? Just roast at p2 on behmor (1600+) and looked to have scorched them. Would a starting weight of 300g of greens contributed to this if using 400g profile?
From the beanbay info they are high grown SHB hence the P2 profile.

    Thanks

    Martin

    180602 batch 42 Panama 300g P2.jpg

Few weird curves there, heat adjustments where at first crack, left behmor in auto till then

Hi Mb. I’m new to using the Behmor myself so getting the hang of it right now. My understanding is the different weight programs are mainly for adjusting the preset times I.e. 400g is a longer cycle than 200g. If you are going the full cycle then I would expect 300g on a full 400g time setting to over cook them. After several early trial runs i’ve tended to work around first crack rather than rely on the preset program.

I also tend to use the P2 as my default then drop to P3 from rolling first crack to give myself a bigger window between first crack and second crack. Had more consistent results this way.

This was successful on the Nicaragua Matagalpa but Can’t comment on Panama though as I haven’t tried it.
