Di Bartoli Christmas Party and Organic Blend Launch with
    Scottie Callaghan

We’re inviting all CS-ers to our Christmas party and the launch of our fantastic new organic blend.

    When: Saturday 13th December, 12pm – 4pm
Where: DiBartoli store, 558 Oxford St Bondi Junction

We know, we know, December is a busy month. Somehow you have to keep your sanity and your smile. That’s why you need to take time out for an afternoon of socialising with people you actually have something in common with, and indulgence in what you love best – coffee! Smiley

Imagine this: World Latte Art Champion Scottie Callaghan behind the bar. Free, perfectly extracted coffee from an organic blend you’ve never tried before. (With perfect rosettas, of course.) A relaxed room full of friendly, like-minded coffee fanatics. Free home-made Portuguese pastries... where else would you rather be?  :

The winning entry for naming the new DiBartoli Organic Blend will be announced. There’ll be a signing of the new book, Cafe Republic, a demo of Scottie’s tools, and free beans to take home (125g of the new blend). You can even have the excuse that you’re there for Christmas shopping from our gifts, hampers, and Christmas specials. And did we mention there’ll be coffee?

Everyone’s invited, so bring your friends! Anything else (lawful & decent ) you wish to experience and has not been mentioned, give us a tingle, we may be able to accommodate!

    Happy Christmas everyone!

      Hi Michelle!

Itll be great catching up again! Would Yeeza be dropping by as do you know?

Just to let everyone know that as of last Friday, Scottie Callaghan is a proud father of little Peach Scarlett Callaghan, a beautiful baby girl.

Nevertheless, weve been reassured the new dad will be pulling Rosettas on Saturday, might be more on the abstract side than usual this time ...

Youre all welcome to to congratulate him in person!

Well also be honored to welcome ECA owner, whod be dropping by later in the afternoon...

Anyone else is coming? May need to top up those Portuguese tarts if there are any takers...

Is it too late for an entry to the naming of the new blend?
I reckon it should be called "Bob".

Sorry T, name has been drawn, and we do have a winner!

Though "Bob" is not a bad idea either....youll get 2 Portuguese tarts for it!

                  Hi Guys!

Hope tomorrow the skies will clear up a bit, as Bondi Junction felt like London in mid-winter today....

Oh well, we can keep ourselves warm and cosy around our Expobar G10 and Scottie, learning a trick or two...

Looking forward to see you all tomorrow!

                    Re: Christmas Party

I just pulled a couple of shots with the organic.

The beans smell like ... plants? grass? Ive never smelled roast beans like that before. Usually the smell of roast beans remind me of rendang http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rendang (I was really hungry when I first paid attention to the smell of roast beans.)

My shot had a hint of citrus in the aroma. Taste was quite balanced. But I have not decided what it tastes like beyond that. It is not what I would expect after having it with milk this afternoon (Scottie was there, so I felt I must get the art. )

                      Thanks heaps!

                        Re: Christmas Party

Yeah it was a great arvo hanging out at the Di Bartoli camp. Scottie was pulling latte out like hed done it once or twice before.
The new organic blend developed by HD was a hit also with the new name of "Di Terra Organic Blend" comprising of Sumatra Mandheling & Peru Fair Trade (mix roasts I think).
Looking forward to putting it through the grinder soon.

The home made portuguese tarts didnt last long either... yumm... glad I got in my fair share

I also picked up Scotties new book which you can see here:

                        peace,

                          Hi Guys!

Thanks Michelle, Dan, Marc, Greg, John, Lisa and any other snobs Ive missed out on, for taking the effort and dropping by yesterday, happy to hear you had a good time and were well entertained by Renzo!

I only wished I could have spent more time with each and every one of you, but with the store manager calling sick an hour before the party, someone had to put Scotties tools boys hat on...

Marc, try restricted shots from Di Terra, it brings lots of sweetness in the cup with updosing / finer grind scenario...

Dan, I promise you, not all is doomed...if Renzo hasnt granted an autograph, Id surely be honored to...

Ive posted few more comments to your Cafe Republic thread..its now available online!

As Di Terra received such warm welcome and your palate approval, wed love to share this experience with other css (ahhh..if only aroma could have transcend through the screen...), the first one to post a Di Terra shot picture (plenty of crema please.... ) will get another 500g posted to his / her house...

I dunno YeeZa, looks pretty good to me.
Even got the slosh marks from moving it to take the picture.
You could ask Andy for tips on how to avoid that. He said he had a few sloshing incidents whilst doing the pics for the van.
