How did this get dredged up? Its like a flashback from a bad acid trip (thats for the Boomers)
For the Gen X & Y its like that drunken indiscrete post on your Facebook page that keeps coming back to haunt you (?)
Ive tried a few different beans since 2008, mostly good and the one that works best for me is still WOW from BeanBay.

On a different note, the work social club has decided to put in a Nespresso-style coffee maker which is supplied free by a company that will service it & supply the capsules.

One of my colleagues has a Nespresso in his office but I couldnt find a capsule I really liked. All seemed to acid for me.
The main problem with coffee prepared this way is that the beans were probably stale, or close to, before they were ground and by the time the ground coffee is packaged and then shipped, it is well and truly stale. Far better to grab fresh beans from Andy or one of our very capable Site Sponsors and then grind just before you brew.... Doesnt have to be in an espresso machine, Ive made some of the best coffee Ive ever had after buying some of Andys "Gold Blend" and then drinking it as a Plunger/French Press brew.

The only machine you have to have is a decent grinder, and the choice of brew method after that can be anything you like ......

    Cheers,
    Mal.

    Thanks Flatwhite,

I went down to Cuppacoffee on the weekend and had a VERY VERY delish coffee  .  Im looking forward to buying some beans to try out at home next time I visit.

Thanks so much Guys, that tells me everything I wanted to know. Now I have several options. I will try Andy first as I will have a chance to drink lots of coffee with the family over the Christmas Hols.
Greg, I will no doubt eventually get into home roasting. Just giving myself a chance to acquire some education in relation to quality fresh brown beans & variations in grinds required by different ones.
On a different note, the work social club has decided to put in a Nespresso-style coffee maker which is supplied free by a company that will service it & supply the capsules. Coffee works out about a dollar a cup. It will be interesting to see how good it is. One of my colleagues has a Nespresso in his office but I couldnt find a capsule I really liked. All seemed to acid for me.

Ill put in a vote for Cuppacoffee - without doubt the best roasted beans Ive found (apologies to this sites owner!) and reasonably priced too!

I have to back Warren, Martybean & KK.  I placed my first order with Andy last Saturday and it arrived on Tuesday.   8-)

We had been buying and enjoying beans from a local roaster who supplies cafes in Sydney.

Andys beans are from another galaxy.     Really exceptional !

We ordered a variety and are trying them one at a time (rather than opening all the bags at once which we thought might shorten their life)  and, while they have all been great, the Wow is my favourite so far.

    Cheers - Carrie

    Yes I agree
You can choose from Bean Bay brown the roasted sample pack over and over again
You get 4 different single origin coffees at a great price
When you find one that tickles your taste buds you can choose to get a larger amount next time around

Its a fantastic way to be a cosmopolitan coffee snob

Ive got to ask--Why no roasting? For small quantities a popcorn popper or a "corretto" will work well, and both are cheap. Green beans keep for years.

I suspect the killer will be the postage on small quantities reasonably frequently, unless you want to freeze beans (see the thread on freezing for some ideas).
