  • Thank You Talk Coffee

I just made the best coffee i have ever done in my entire life!!!! 8-)

THANK YOU to Chris from Talk Coffee!!!!!

My partner and I had a private session with Chris today and left with our brain buzzing!!
Not from all the coffee but all the information he shared with us *thumbs up*

Like a truly good teacher he was patient and encouraged us to make mistakes so that we could learn from them

I still cant believe how we were doing just about everything so wrong

I have never seen so many coffees thrown away for the sake of science meets art

I would suggest this consultation to anyone out there wanting to improve on their skills or learn from scratch like us

On the way home my partner was trying to convince me we need a new grinder and a roaster , he even wanted to know if Chris runs roasting classes : ;D

I certainly feel more like a legit coffee snob now

The first coffee I made with my new machines from Chris was also pretty damned good and I didnt even have a face to face lesson with him.

    Clever little bugger aint he?

Go on...get the grinder; you know you want one too.

yes but you were probably already a more accomplished coffee snob than I am :P

Not denying I want a new coffee grinder, even though this one has not even had a full kilo of coffee through it,
actually after today it probably has LOL

In fact I refused to use his flashy and fast grinder, for fear of not being able to go home with our grinder ;D

          Nope.
I used to drink instant and take away cappuccinos.

I decided I wanted to learn to drive an espresaso machine so did a course, found this site, spoke to Chris and came away with my Expobar and Macap.

I jumped straight in the deep end.

              Re: Thank You Talk Coffee

Just enjoyed a coffee made with Chris Urban Blend beans - poured very nicely and had rich chocolatey flavours.

Thank you Chris, and for the pearls of wisdom I always come away with as well.

                Marie,

Did you do some sort of a course as well somewhere?

Yes from what I have seen of Chris both on the forum and in real life he genuinely enjoys sharing his knowledge

we have some of the Urban Blend as well, agreed it is very very nice!!!

I forgot to mention it was awesome to have my first morning coffee for the day out of Chriss baby!! Cant think of her name right now, but the 1965 Chevrolet look machine he has there

                  Re: Thank You Talk Coffee

Yes, I did a course with Chris at the Coffee Academy about 5 years ago. After that I had some limited experience at a cafe.

During the last year, I have done some courses with David Makin and have had a lot of encouragement from the other baristas at Veneziano in Abbotsford.

I have had my equipment at home for nearly 3 months and am very happy with the results. However, it took several weeks to get any sort of consistency and it is improving all the time. It is a journey and that is the challenge and enjoyment of it.

                  All the best
                  Marie
