  • Looking for Newtown Cafe I went to - any ideas?

Im looking for the name of a place I found a couple of years ago when I was in sydney for some work, stayed at the Rydges Camperdown and on the Saturday I went for a walk and found a little cafe where I had breakfast (great breakfast!) and coffee. I have searched google street view and checked the Good coffee where - NSW thread and I think it might be Cordial but there is no good pics. It was only a small rectangular shop, little kitchen behind counter and machine with a few tables outside, thats my recollection

So if anyone who knows the place can confirm if they make the best eggs benedict you ever had with ham, smoked salmon, baby spinnach leaves AND fresh made hollandaise then thats deffinately the place.

Wanted to tell a friend who is there for the week but then cant remember the name of the place so thanks if you can help.

      Hey Coughy,

Im not sure if youve checked this website out but its got a small picture of cordial which might jog the memory. It also has brief reviews of other cafes in Newtown and around the area.

      Here it is:

Chaecked out Cafedave and when I looked at that pic it doesnt look right, too many tables and its too big so I dont know. Maybe I got the coordinates a bit wrong on street view because I was thinking it was more like a place up on Missenden rd cnr of Carillion, you can hardly see except that theres a coffee sign and an umbrella near the hedge.
I swear it ony had about 3 tables against the shop front sort of on the sidewalk (but back from the road) but then it was a few years ago so maybe it changed. Told my friend to check out Cordial anyway since is sounds like a good place.

Also i think I only walked up missenden to King st, did some browsing and then went to the Coopers hotel.

I dont think that picture is a good memory jogger.
I agree with Dennis, you must have been at Cordial.
I live a good 30+ minute drive away and have made the trip for breakfast because I like it.

we pretty much promise you its cordial. my experience is that the coffee there isnt as regularly great as it used to be, but that the food is still stunning, particularly the eggs benedict and the chicken burger.
