  • Bubbles in shot....

    Hello all,
    Time to ask the brains trust yet another question.....

    What do bubbles in a shots creama indicate? im using some freshly roasted Sumatran beans 3 days old, PID set to 108 C, pouring into hot cup.

    Im guessing possibly beans too fresh at the moment.....would i be right?, would you prefer a photo?

    At 3 days, definitely freshness.

    I usually let everything rest for at least 5-7 days before I rip open the bag.

      i thought it would be age, the others i have dont seem to be so effected by it at the early stages, and it was a Nicaraguan bean too not the sumatran as i stated in my first post....

        For me it can be a good indicator of freshness and of course some beans more than others. As they get near the end of their best IMO then less oxygen becomes apparant.

          Thanks guys, i tried again today and wah lah! brilliant! need at least 4 days!.......but now its all gone! now its off to roast some of that lovely peru estate from bean bay! hmmmmm!
