  • Kenya AA & Peaberries

I had some of this when I first started roasting and nothing has been quite the same ... maybe it was just the novelty but I really want to try it again.  It only seems to be available at expensive places.

Oops, I just noticed mauricem already started a thread on this! Never mind and anyway, while Im at it ... if you want to poll more peaberries from the world over then that would be just fine! They seem to be excellent for consistent roasts. I missed the last lot, bugger it. [smiley=undecided.gif]

    Re: Kenya AA & Peaberries

    Hi again JenW,

Another great bean origin is Papua New Guinea. I have never had a bad batch yet but plenty of excellent ones. I would highly recommend trying to get some of this the next time some is available on poll and even better, its really easy to roast and very forgiving of slight roast inconsistencies. Ive only got about a Kilo of these wonderful beans left so Ill be keeping an eye out for some next time the polls go up......

    Cheers,
    Mal.

      Re: Kenya AA & Peaberries

      Hi Mal,

Yep, Ive tried a couple of PNGs (a peaberry and one that was on the polls here a few months back) and have to agree they are a very nice roast ... but I still like the Kenya best of all! Also the Zimbabwe AA is probably my next favourite.

As far as my low-end gear goes (referring to your other post) well, you know, of course it impresses me but its nothing to write home about! ;D Just kidding around really ... I did start to enter in my list of paraphernalia but decided it wasnt going to fit so I left it as it is. (Ive added a winky now to indicate my kiddingness.)

      cheers,
      Jen

        No worries Jen,

Did you see the Kenya AA single estate beans up on the poll? If not, youll have to be quick in case the poll closes soon,

        Cheers,
        Mal.
