Actually Lindz...im curious to know also?

I have long wondered what it would be like to enter either latte art comp or a round of the Australian barista comp.

I imagine the first time you compete would be comparable to doing a trial for a new cafe/ resturant only 15 minutes long? lol

    Anyone?!?!?!?!?

      Re: Barista Competitions

      Gday Lindz and Luke,
I dont know about competitions but I think a good place to start doing some research on barista comps would be the Austral Asian Specialty Coffee Association (AASCA).
Heres a link to their page.
      https://www.aasca.com/
      All the best,
      Steve.

Not sure where youre located but if wanna see a comp going on check out the AASCA site as Lovey has posted. I think the NSW state comp is on the 24th October.

There is also comp going on at the Willoughby street fair in Chatswood on September 12th between 10-1pm. I wont be competing but might be judging at them.

            Re: Barista Competitions

It was a topic at work this afternoon actually!

We might be holding a barista jam at my cafe/resturant one evening with canapes and wine.

A small cover charger for baristas wanting to take part on the day and cheap if not free coffee based drinks for all?!?!?!?!?

It would be in about a month or so.
            ANYONE interested?

Northern rivers area(Lismore, Ballina, Alstonville) area.

Were looking to promote barista talent in our area.. there will be a small prize on offer to the winning barista on the day(scores not revealed to the public) but in all honesty..were only wanting to promote coffee and wine in out area.
