  • Supreme Roasters - Yatala QLD

Ok, I gotta send a plug out to Roger from Supreme Roasters at Yatala in Queensland.

A little while back I was chasing some guidance on a supplier on the Gold Coast; in the end I finished up getting a machine sight unseen because I couldnt get to see one on the bench in the neighborhood.

Anyway, I saw a couple of Rogers posts on his sponsors page and I thought Id pop in to try the beans. Little did I know that he had a fairly decent setup in his shop with a GPP, Domus and Expobar on the bench for side by side comparisons (FWIW, I was tossing up between the GPP and Domus when I was choosing).

He was quick to offer me a try on the machines on the bench to see what I was (or was not) missing out on. He made me a couple of coffees and when I commented on my somewhat lacking milk frothing skills offered to spend some time with me to work on my technique next time Im in (Ill supply the milk).

He then threw some free beans my way for good measure (which were/are very good by the way).

I dont have much other experience with any other site sponsors aside from a couple of phone calls but Roger was a real gentleman and if the other sponsors on here are half as nice, then users of the forum cant go too wrong.

If someone on the Gold Coast is looking for a new machine or some beans, its definitely worth dropping in to see Supreme Roasters.

Roger seems to be getting glowing reports from everyone, ive been meaning to pop in and try his beans but I know I will walk out of there with a Domus and ive promised myself I wont upgrade till the new year.

Lend it to me to perform a service :-) That way some good will come of it.

Just through it out the window like in the dibella commercial

Give roger a ring and you will be able to bench test the rocket giotto premium, expobar barista minore and domus gallatea.

                        Hi Fancypants,

Thanks for the kind words! Had a great time making coffee with you and look forward to more in the future... open invitation to work on your milk texturing. Hope you continue to enjoy the coffee at home! Remember were just around the corner for when you want more fresh beans!

                        Carlie and Rival

I think the best thing for you both to do is actually get your hands on the domus, pull a few shots, texture some milk and get a feel for it. Then compare your experiences on this machine to a Giotto, Expobar and anything else you can get your hands on! Its a big decision for you so best you do the groundwork before deciding on the one machine.

That said however we do have the Domus Galatea in stock.  ;D

Looking forward to seeing old and new faces at the roastery!
