So, at home with the little tacker today and hes quite self-sufficient - at 3.75 years of age! - so thought Id get myself organised before I headed off to the Sunny Climes of Brisvegas in around 3.5 weeks time (eek!)
I created a spreadsheet in Excel of all the BeanBay Bean Descriptors (ie; the name of the Bean & Andys notes from the announcement) that appeared from September 2008 onwards and their offered month. Then another column for whether I had some (how much?), my roast rating (in stars: ie; 5 stars for a great one) and then any comments (ie; get again if offered).
I then went through my cupboards and counted each lot and made a tally of around how much I had of how many varieties and put that in the tally column so I could keep track.
A bit disappointed - I only have 16 varieties and 36 kilos of greens - I thought I had much more quantity and variety than that!
A really good exercise, though - one of the reasons I did it is because I know that theres beans there that I have bought in the past year and have tossed into the cupboard and not touched since. It will make me identify different ones to roast up instead of just using my favourites to death or until they are gone.
Obviously, Im not trying though and have some seriously purchasing of beans to do once Im settled up in Qld!
Mind you, I blame Pete since as of a couple of months ago, he started making rude comments about how I had enough sandbags to stop a flood around our house and I better start limiting my stocks due to our move... [smiley=angry.gif]
If anyone would like a copy of the spreadsheet, PM me with your email address and I can send out if it would be helpful - if nothing else than a tool to see whats been offerred in the past.
Cheers

PS - Mods, if you think this would be more appropriate in Roasting or another area, please feel free to move!
