thanks Renzo, Ofra, Karen, David for hosting such a nice event!

I didnt come just for the custard tarts and custard donuts & free coffee & sparkling water ;D but saying that might mean i get less next year

the spro tasting comp. was such a close call - we were all miles out on some of them, and I dont think anyone actually scored more than 0/4 (or 1/4 if we count one of the countries in the rudolph blend, in which case 3 of us tied for first!). thanks to genaro for putting up with us winding him up while pulling some awesome shots. its also the first time in my life Ive won anything, and Im not a good winner. So /\/o/ and good luck next year!

Mike - sorry I didnt get a chance to talk to you - wasnt ignoring you and hope to get to chat at the next CS meet! was just in a bit of a daze

..and man, that otto is a surprisingly capable little tool. Id love to review one side by side with a MyPressi - the mypressi being cheaper to buy, but more expensive to use and incapable of doing milk, and the otto being a significant wallet hit for camping! its not what Id define as espresso, but it still tastes like espresso and has crema + body like an espresso. Id love to grab a kilo of something with great oils like Beloya #16 and really put this to the test. FYI - itll steam milk faster than an EM6910.

    Hi Folks,

Thanks Chris, Natalie, Theodor, Mike, Mark, John & Lisa, Paul & wife, Adam and anyone else I may have missed out (still under the caffeine influence from yesterday.... ) for joining us and making this party such a fun event!

Sorry if we didnt get around to have a long chat, I had to stick to Genaro trying to prevent another major milk spill on his nice Italian leather shoes... ;D

Congrats Coffeehoarse for the Pullman Tamper win! John was the closet one to guess our 4 mystery beans: Sulawesi Toraja, Rudolph Red-Nose Blend (Brazil & Ethiopian), Peru Cooparm & Nicaragua Santa Rita. Happy it turned up to be a perfect gift for your Birthday!

Thanks also to Charles, Ash, Will, Andrew & Craig whove shown up and shared their import knowledge with the rest of us!

Big thanks to Genaro who despite the foreign environment tuned in so quickly and did with it magic like with its own!

Thanks also to other regulars and friends who stopped by for coffee, had a bite and a chat and conveyed their wishes.

Biggest thanks to our Team: David, Karen & Eric for their constant contribution to make Di Bartolis events coming alive!

Pics? well... :-? I was hoping Natalie would post few, as its all in Karens camera at the moment...will put some up tomorrow.

    Have a great week guys!

    Ofra

Haha, good for you TG! So, did you actually have to pour any art on the day?
;D Nope; not one pour. Milk remained in the carton; didnt even get as far as the jug.
    ;D ;D ;D

Challenge your taste buds and win! well have 4 grinders with 4 mystery single origins. The snob to guess most of the countries of
origins, would win a Pullman Tamper of their choice!

Congratulations to coffeehorse for winning (my money was on him).

Also thanks to Di Bartoli for my Scottie Callaghan dosing tools (I told ya Id win).
Well to tell the truth it was easier than I thought.
It seems my reputation preceded me and I scared off all the competition.
Maybe the fact that Scottie has given me a few pointers in the past helped.
Maybe the picture of the rosetta I pulled on the 69100 at work 6 months ago had them trembling in their boots?
The cutoff time was extended in order to allow some talented baristi to take me on, but in the end they must have decided to defer to my talent and stay away to practise some more until they consider they are ready for the challenge; maybe next year.    ;D

If so, maybe you could put up a few pics to show contenders what theyre up against! 8-)
