  • Going to Brisbane Tomorrow!

Hi Everyone - Im doing a flying visit to Brsibane tomorrow for a job interview: land at 8.55am, drive by taxi straight to Enoggera, then jump back in the taxi afterwards and drive straight back to the Airport to head off at 2.55pm.

Are there any good quick coffee stops I can do between the Airport and Enoggera (is DiBellas on the way, by any happy chance?) Keeping in mind that I will be in a taxi with one other person and its being paid for by someone else, so cant afford to stop for any length of time so it will have to be a takeaway?

Or is there anywhere in the airport itself that is good enough to feed my addiction but not want me to immediately spit it out?

Or, alternatively, anyone want to meet me at the Airport and hand me a coffee?

    Cheers
    Di

    Hi Di

Prior to job interviews you should avoid cigarettes, too much perfume, and sorry to say, coffee breath.

Have a cup of tea and save the coffee for after the interview.

Dennis advice is sound, how about someone meets you at the airport on the way back?

The way some of the taxis navigate almost all of greater Brisbane is between the airport and Enoggera. And no, if there is decent coffee at the airport I havent found it.

Di Bella in Abortsford Road is a minor detour and there are lots of good reasons to go there. After your interview you could slip down and see Troy at the Coffee Laboratory in Bishop St at Kelvin Grove and then move on to Di Bella.

Just back (a bit early from the Barista Championships... Quite a hot day and have a migraine coming on >

Wife is up the coast on leave.... :-* And I am here and was planning on going up tonight... But may be yet going in the morning...

Will confirm... But if so.. I am really on the best route to Enoggera and thus could offer ... Cold Water / Special Tea and or Coffee... As well as a bathroom to freshen up in..

If that is suitable... I will chat further with teh wife.

PS.. Some interesting people at the championships...

            Re: Going to Brisbane Tomorrow!

Thanks Guys - TG & Den: going without beforehand, really isnt an option...Ill need a good coffee to calm my nerves (oh, and for the enjoyment of it, too!)

Ill definitely put the Coffee Lab on the card for one to visit when I get up there for good in less than 3 weeks, though: aaaarrrghhh - its that close now! Darn, still have to clean the house and do some packing, since theyre coming to take everything away in 1 weeks time... :P

AM - I would duck in, but I really think Ill be pushing it on the way back to the airport and Id hate to say Ill pop in, but it will more likely than not not happen. I suspect that, because we are visitors, well get a bit of a tour around the Base and then chucked into a taxi quick for the trip back to the Airport. But a huge thank you for the offer, anyway!

Ill see if I can talk the taxi driver into detouring via the Di Bella drive through and see if AMs artwork is still in position and try to get a photo if it still is.

So, prepare for a slight earth tremor at about 8.55am tomorrow morning as the first Hoyks Family member touches back down in Queensland after being away for 10.5 years!

            Cheers
            Di

1: My car is still CSed as well as the roof of the house.. A bit faded now but still visible ;D

Offer still stands for a coffee / water / Tea on ya way there... 1 st stop AMD and I will be here 8-)

                  Re: Going to Brisbane Tomorrow!

It went well - ended up going with a 1/2 strength at Newie Airport and a 1/2 strength at the place at the Jetstar Gate 25 (Velluzzo? or something like that) both werent completely horrendous and at least kept my caffine intake topped up.

Beetled on over to Enogerra (a job interview at the Base) and the interview went great, but but the time both I and the travelling companion (a fellow interviewee I work with) had finished our interviews, it was time to head back to the airport.

Glad to be home - gotta go adn get dressed for my last tap lesson with my teacher tonight...

Might be the last for a while, because Petes found out hes going O/S for 2 months in early February, so I wont really have a chance to find a new school and start again until he gets back (lack of babysitters, unfortunately!)

Oh well, better fly - due there in 30 minutes!

                  Cheers
                  Di
