I just bought a gram scale from ebay....sooo much cheaper than from the stores.
Anyway I weighed how much coffee Ive been dosing...turns out ive been getting about 10+gm per sccoop....
Which means I was dosing about 18-20gm when I was using the Rancillio basket. Now im using a 14gm synesso basket ridgeless in which im dosing 20-22gm.
Is this too much coffee (updosing too high)???? Should I cut it back a bit and tighten the grind?
Ive tried dropping it back to 14gm (horrible) and 16gm which is manageable.
This leads to my next question. I have a 21gm synesso (with ridge)...how do I dose for this? I havent pulled a good shot out of this yet! I guess I must have been updosing close to 25-30gm (with what I have been doing). Im presuming you dont want to updose much at all for a 21gm...
Im also waiting for an 18gm ridgeless....Im guessing you wouldnt updose too much on this either???
Also one more question to do with the naked handles....If I want to make 2 coffees from it....Im guessing I have to pull the shot into a small jug first, then distribute into 2 cups?? wouldnt this change the crema too much?? and be similar to using a double spout anyway?
