Re: Mt Tamborine Coffee Plantation - A day trip for snobs!

For all those who havent been. I made the trip up the plantation over xmas. It was a great experience. Kees is a man with great knowledge, from the moment you walk in you feel welcomed.
For me seeing how the whole process from tree to what we drink was great. I now have a better understanding of wet hauled and dry processed coffee.
I purchased about 2kg of beans and to actually be involved with separating the husks from the bean makes the coffee Im now drinking even sweeter.
Anyway for those that live in SE QLD and you enjoy your coffee, you would be mad not to visit, even if it meant having a day off work....

If youre making a special trip it would be worth a phone call first.

Unfortunately Murphy got me. : Not too bad because it was a detour on a drive I had to do anyway. :-/

But I will be back. Neither rain nor snow nor Energex shall keep a snob ...

Depending on when it is and if I can get the day off work if its mid week or if I can negotiate with the family on the weekend Id like to come.

        Alex
No worries, im going to give kees a ring early next week for a chat to see if weekends are available at special request, or whether hed prefer weekdays.......then well start nailing down a date

Dammed if we do and either way..

Better be on the way home or the coffee experience will never happen.. Can you arrange for a bus to get us all back home and to collect our transport as well.

Re: Mt Tamborine Coffee Plantation - A day trip for snobs!

                    Sounds good to me.

Petes home next Saturday (at this stage)...yay!!! Never thought Id miss the old boy as much as I have this time around!

I have a bit of a stumbling block to a mid week journey now, though - Ive just accepted a position out past Toowoomba and will be busy training for the first 6 months or so, so Im down for only being able to do weekends now.

I would like to tag along if it works out in my schedule. I visited a coffee plantation in Hawaii once but that was before I was really paying attention. Ill watch this space for the date.

In the meantime, the BeanBay orders should arrive this week, so Ill be at Venezianos next Saturday morning at 10.30am if anyone wants to join me - Pete should be home some time this week (who knows when! : ) so Ima commin in on my own and leaving him to babysit after doing it for six weeks solo!

AM should be there also (he nicely collected my Beans from last BB for me because I couldnt make it in, so Ive got a nice bag of green JBM coming my way!)

                          Cheers
