Re: Mt Tamborine Coffee Plantation - A day trip for snobs!

My ideal time would be a weekday - then I can take a days leave and spoil myself with some "Me time"- no weekend worries and commitments and kids stuff - my wife would anyway get bored if she tagged along.

        - but having said that i will try and fit in with everyone else.

Are we any closer to discussing dates?

Might be worth checking if weekends are even an option. I thought they were closed on weekends.

Id like to come along too. So, no date yet? Is that right?

I have 2 year old twin boys and a 4 year old who have to accompany me though, and Hubby too if hes not away with work. I can go anytime.

My kids are fairly used to coffee shops and doing adult stuff and as long as they have food are pretty controllable. gotta love boys, just have to keep feeding them.....

Has crossed my mind. They miraculously "found" the cat food in the tv cabinet but could not remember where they stuck the remote. Luckily I needed to make a phone call and found it myself.....

Ok spoke to Maria from the plantation, she said that they would be delighted for us to head on down for a tour, i asked about weekends, unfortunately kees wasnt there, so she grabbed my number and she is going to get him to call me this afternoon or tomorrow as ultimately its up to him obviously, she did mention that processing of the beans wont generally occur until Aug/Sept and it continues right through to Xmas.

What are peoples opinions as far as postponing it till processing time?

Im happy to go whenever, the tour and knowledge Kees has is enough to keep me enthralled

Will post when Kees calls me back......

                          I am happy to postpone..

The main reason is that trees grow beans and that is interesting...  Further more if you watch them very closely under the right conditions ya can see them grow

However to be there during picking / processing etc etc would add a whole new concept to it all.

Besides I want to get my shoes off and crush some in a bucket or a vat.... Opps thats a different berry / cherry

Any way... Would be happy to delay for a while....

                            Either way, Id be happy!

Should sort out another get together though soon to keep us going, if thats the case, though.

Anyone up for a get together at somewhere like Supreme Roasters at Yatala as an alternative or somewhere similar - your mates place down the road from you AM that youve been to a couple of times?

                            Cheers
                            Di

Sounds like it would be worth waiting until Aug/Sept and the processing season for an organised visit.
