  • Where to buy beans in Outer-SE Melbourne?

    Hi.

I know you can buy over the Internet and have them shipped to you (including Bean Bay which I fully intend to try), but part of the satisfying ritual is going into a store, looking at the wares and such.

So, I was wondering if anybody could recommend a place local to me for buying fresh beans. I live in the Berwick, Narre Warren, Fountain Gate area, and work in Keysborough - so anywhere from Pakenham to Dandenong, or out to Cheltenham would be ideal.

Alternatively, I am in the CBD once or twice a month, so somewhere in the CBD would also be of interest.

    Thanks.

    E.

You could try Paridiso Coffee Roasters in Clayton. Also ask Chris K if he delivers to someone closer to you.

For the CBD check out the good coffee where section there is a heap But St Ali, Seven Seeds, Di Bella, Atomica, Veneziano are all in and around Melbourne

In the Cheltenham area there are a few places you could visit.

I would have a look at C4 coffee run by Bruno Maiolo in Mordialloc. There is also 5 Senses coffee and Gigante coffee roasters in Cheltenham. Plenty of choice!

Hey! C4 and 5 Senses are not too far away for a lunchtime trip in the car. Excellent! Thanks.

Gigante, being the far side of the Nepean is getting a bit too far, though.

I too am looking for fresh coffee in the outer SE of Melb. Does anybody know if there is anywhere that has opened up in the last few months?

Suggest you try The Chosen Bean as it is not far to travel from your location and roasts on site.

Shop 9a, Mountain Gate Shopping Centre, Ferntree Gully VIC

I saw this post earlier in the day and meant to reply.
Oddly enough I have just started work in Ferntree Gully and have been looking for somewhere to get a good coffee and buy beans when Im waiting for Beanbay arrivals.
I strongly recommend The Chosen Bean. The espresso I got from there was one of the best Ive had in a long time. They had three or four single origin beans in and their house blend. One of the available beans was 3-weeks post roast and while thats not for me at least theyre honest. I got 250g of 5 day old Harar and its beautiful.

                    Hello Evan,

You can turn right off Victoria St on your way to or from uni and there you will find Veneziano coffee and First Pour. Great place to pick up some browns on your way through and sample a shot or two as well.

You could also try Coffee Hit in the Doncaster Westfield shopping centre, bottom floor.
They have a roaster right in the shopping centre. and the house blend is good.
