I wonder how does it taste?
Which - the Kanchenjunga or Sumatran?
Any tea I have bought from Bean Bay has been excellent.

Like coffee, fresh is best although tea does keep much longer than roasted coffee.

From the photo, it looks finer than most teas I like to drink. I prefer to get single varieties and do the blending myself.

Likewise Rob but the CEB (despite the small leaf size) is a very nice tea, full of flavour and a long, clean finish.

I love the Hi-Q Darjeeling(s) that Andy sources too, sometimes with a little Assam blended in - Beautiful cuppa..... 8-)

My partner Sue, loves a pot or seven of tea, and this one is her favourite so far.  Isnt it nice that we all have such diverse tastes!
I didnt mean it was bad, just our least favourite. It is a terrific tea (SFTGOP1 means it will be, of course) but for us it lacks the delicate floral notes of the Sumatran or the Darjeeling or even the slight background citrus of the English Brekkie.

Even the PNG tea is fine. As long as you brew for up to 60 seconds and no longer. Any longer than that and the tannins LEAP forward and youve got a cup of Liptons >.

Strangely, on our recent fishing trip I was able to cope with coffee brewed with the "native" water on Eyre Peninsula just fine, but the tea We found the Indian was the only palatable one with the hard water....

    Gday Rob...

Have you tried the Ceylon English Breakfast tea mate. This makes a fantastic cuppa and like Andy, pretty well have one or two a day/night
I havent tried it yet, Mal. From the photo, it looks finer than most teas I like to drink. I prefer to get single varieties and do the blending myself.

Curiously, the Indian "camelia siensis" (all teas come from this plant!!) is our least favourite tea.

I was very worried when Bean Bay ran out of the Sumatran Superior BOP, so thanks for getting some more in, Andy.

Are there any other teas on the horizon? The organic Ceylon Koslanda Orange Pekoe from a few years ago was a standout, and Ive had some amazing Kenya BOP from one of the site sponsors (Veneziano).

Well, I be blowed. Last time I looked it said "no".

    Apologies for asking again!!

We have a lot of teas - Mrs-KJM is originally of English origin

The Darjeeling is superb. 3:30mins brew time. The Sumatran is fabulous (daughter #2 rates this as the best). Same brew time. The English breakky we have for breakfast (also 3:30 to catch that vague hint of citrus like flower in it). The PNG BOP1 needs up to 1 minute of brew time. Mrs-KJM likes it in the afternoon (although I havent found any cucumber sangers lying around...).

Curiously, the Indian "camelia siensis" (all teas come from this plant!!) is our least favourite tea. Seems to have no specific trait - it is just a nice clean tea.

Unfortunately, no-one else in the house likes the green teas, so Im banished to consuming those at work...

Yeah, all the new crop teas arrived last week and tip-toed into BeanBay without any trumpet fare. (Sorry)

I noticed that quite a few CSrs noticed them as we have shipped a lot out since.

While we are voting for teas, I have to say, the English Breakfast is the hit in our household, Paula and I have a pot every night (....which would be around brunch time in the UK I guess!)
