Had a fantastic time that day. I finally got around to transferring the photos onto my computer, only took a few photos and videos on the day, but nonetheless...
...twas a good morning at Keffa Han.
Got to talk coffee for hours without boring anybody (presumably) and I was able to destroy a couple of batches of Limmu in Andys Behmor.
Thanks all - especially Claude and Andy.
Yes, what a great venue for a meetup! Always amazing to see that a cafe like Claudes so out of the way, is actually doing well and is a popular local spot. Also nice to see someone else using a Ruggero and I enjoyed watching him make coffee in the Ibrik over the little camp stove.
I agree with everyone that the venue and Claudes coffee are great and as always its good fun to catch-up with a pile of CSrs for a chat, even better when we can roast some beans while doing it.
I was too busy talking, roasting and handing out beans to talk pictures but I did see a couple of cameras around. Maybe someone can post some pics for the others?
Thanks again for a good social morning, I look forward to the next get together.
Thanks to Andy for answering a milion questions and thanks to Claude for the venue and great coffee. I am looking forward to dropping in for another coffee when travelling around town. Nice to meet other members and learn from their experience. Thanks for the input
Id also add my thanks to Andy and Claude.
Had a great flat white and the little girl enjoyed her hot chocolate.
Always good to meet up with like minded obsessives who dont mind continuous talk on topics of weight loss % during roasts, when to first taste the roast and how the hell do you pronounce Huehuetenango!!
Cheers to all who were there, sorry I didnt really get to chat much, but I always appreciate the effort by Andy and others to promote the home roasting juggernaut!
good day all round - thanks to andy and the others for demonstrating the Behmor - and for demonstrating how to burn the crap out of a roast! Was that CS colour grade 98 or 99? :P
Claude makes a great coffee, never seen a naked in action so was mesmerised by trhe liqiud gold coming out of the Ruggero.
Will have to get down to the beanery Andy and have that discussion about custom roasts.
I really enjoyed the get together and after talking to Andy and some of the others there, Ill be concentrating more on enjoying the roasting rather than obsessing about the numbers.
Came home with some Behomor roast beans to compare to my Baby Roaster ones as well.
Bloody great fun today, so glad I came along. Excellent opportunity to ask all my dumb newbie roasting questions, have a play, and chat with fellow snobbers. Am now likely to spend the rest of the weekend roasting!
Great venue too, lots of room to play and great coffee from Claude.
