  • My first bean bay delivery

Im not sure if this is the right place to post it, but seemd the best spot!

I just wanted to share my very positive experience of my very first bean bay purchase...

I belatedly realised i was almost out of the beans that jet black gave me with my machine

so i took the plunge and ordered a brown bean sampler pack from andy... transferred the money and though, hmmm should be here in a couple of days...

come home the next day, there is a delivery slip from auspost saying sorry we missed you at 8:15am- I was actually home, trying to get a decent shot out of some very old supermarket preground coffee, uhgh, how could i have been drinking that?! (It was from my pregrinder days and i ended up sinking it and buying my first coffee since getting my grinder and machine)
Obviously pressing the buzzer for my apartment is too much for auspost to deal with- but i digress...
so, got my BF to pick up the package yesterday and had the best coffee ever from my lelit.

so, i just wanted to thank andy for the fantastic service he provides to all of us addicts and the speedy manner in which he delivers his excellent products.

now, we just need auspost to lift their game...

Id be following that one up Shaun as it might have been "lost" or perhaps it was returned to their depot as they couldnt deliver.

Might be best to give them a call with your tracking number and see whats happened....

Yeah, thats my plan for today. Find out what happened..
Where do I find the tracking number, though? Do I need to get onto Andy for that one? I got an email saying my order had shipped, but no more detail than that.

(Sorry, sagoode, didnt mean to derail your post!)

All sorted. They went to the wrong address. Simple mistake

            Back to eager anticipation.

Back on topic for this thread, Id also like to commend BeanBay on how quickly this shipped after I ordered it.

no worries ShaunM, I understand your frustration, a whole week! I was constatly calling my BF to remind him to pick them up from the post office and i didnt want to wait another day! I think the work coffee junkie got thrown in there at some point by him...

Well folks beat this: I ordered some green beans from bean bay at 2am this morning and it was delivered to my cafe at lunchtime today!

I mean how is that possible?

That is an easy question, and the answer is Andy 8-)

                      You are in Melbourne
                      Andy is in Melbourne

Andy works to all hours of the night including twilight

He packs the order and books in a courier such as Couriers Please that generally have a 4 hour delivery time within the same city after pick up

Its not hard to do with a wheel/spoke and hub delivery system

Yes I used to work for a transport company many years ago

Ahh, courier, I was only thinking Aussie Post.

Same day delivery - great service!

                          Couriers Please
"Pleeeeese deliver, pretty pleeeese Mr Courier". I have a pile of couriers please stickers from a year or so ago that I would only use on something that had to go on a long tour before moving anywhere or something I wanted damaged and/or lost. I understand that might not be true for all their franchise owners but our local couriers please guys were hopeless so we "sacked em".

Star Couriers (mostly) does a great job on the Melbourne stuff. We have had a few "interesting" interactions with their head office over the years but on average their local drivers work at 110%, we know them all well, have mobile contact numbers and one of them even let me drop off roasted orders to his home at 8pm on a Sunday night to ensure they got to Melbourne monday morning. Seriously good service above and beyond the call.

Last time I was in Melbourne, was when I was 10 years old
Edit That would have been in 1969 :
So I think I should be forgiven that I dont know the current layout of Melbourne

And I was looking at transport options from a Brisbane perspective

I never got lost as I was the salesman  ;D

Couriers please was used an example

I had many transport companies as clients
We were express 1 to 4 hour couriers and often subcontracted to them to lighten there work load
