Was St Ali using the Bunn?
    Dont know.
It was very near the Slayer so Id assume it was ready to use.

Sounds like you had a great and highly caffeinated visit TG
Well my big day was Friday.
Just realised I missed writing in The Dancing Goat after breakfast. Earl canteens coffee didnt interest me.

    So Friday was:
    1 at Dancing Goat
3 at Foxy Brown (includes a dbl ris)
    2 at Maling Room

    Friday continued:
    - Maling Room - only 2 of the 3 SOs on offer remained and Kirby recommended the Nicaraguan for both an espresso and flat white.
I thought Id try an espresso even though I usually only drink flat whites.
The espresso was OK but Ive had better.
As a flat white though it was lovely. Also the texture of the milk was great.
Introduced myself to Kirby as I was about to leave. A charming young lady.

    Saturday:
    - Up bright and early to get to Prahran markets for the 10am cupping at Market Lane; proved once again Im a cupping nove despite picking the citrus notes in #4 and smelling some "mouldiness" in #1.
I couldnt taste the mould in #1 but then again I hadnt smelled the citrus in #4.
The rest were too similar to my poor palate. :-/

    - Next stop Was St Ali. The place was jam packed and I was sent across the laneway with a chit to get my coffee.
Luckily for me that was where the Slayer currently resides. It seems its been a bit finicky of late and so was taken out of the main building until its sorted. I was a bit disappointed that my coffee was served in a takeway cup. :-?
Also spotted a Bunn Trifecta on a nearby table.
    - Off then to South Melbourne Market for lunch.
    - Too tired from walking (my bad knee) to bother with Deadman Espresso (next time).

    Sunday:

    - Tried a flat white with breakfast at a cafe on Bridge Rd Richmond. I thought Id risk it because they were using Veneziano.
Burnt my lip and tongue it was that bloody hot!!! >

    - Back in the CBD looking for a quick bite to eat before leaving for the airport, I realised I was close to Sensory Lab so stopped in for a flat white. Kenyan - nice.
    - Subway for "lunch" (almost 3pm) and then a quick tram ride back to the hotel to get my bag and into a cab to the airport.
    - Had to board 3 laps from the end of Bathurst 1000; who won?

    Today:

    - Up to my 2nd cup of Foxy Brown coffee courtesy of Pat (askthecoffeeguy).

    --------

I loved the transport in Melbourne. Sydney public transport SUCKS!

Schedule took a bit of a beating today so planned stops have been revised.

    Summary so far.

    Thursday arrived Melb. 2:00pm.
    - First stop Elevenses - met the lovely Shanny and had a nice flat white with a superb Vegemite on sourdough toast.
    - Second stop BBB. Coffee not as strong as I like but smooth none the less.

Could you leave out the vegemite comments on further updates please. Ive been here at work in Malaysia for nearly 8 weeks now and ive got another 3 days before i get my vegemite fix!  ;D

    Thanks GM.
I found the journey planner yesterday and have been working on a google map.
I can log into the map with my phone and see all the coffee locations Ive marked.
It has been helpful in starting to work out where Ill go in my limited time.

Google maps and the Yarra Trams journey planner are great tools for making the most of your Melbourne visit

    Thank Beanz.

Theyre already on my "long list"; no way Ill fit them all in.
Im trying to plot them all on a map and then create a working "short list" that takes into consideration travel routes be it walking limping, tram or train.

Those establishments close to each other or along the same path will get a look in this time around.

Ill only have Thorsday arvo and all day Friday to myself.
On the weekend Ill be hampered by the SO (though Andys suggestion of leaving her at the Vic markets is being given serious consideration).

I see you have some good suggestions already but a few others are. Seven Seeds which is walking distance from CBD and well worth a visit. Brother Baba Budan in CBD should be high on the agenda. St Ali in Sth Melb but can be very busy weekends. East Brunswick Project at the top end of Lygon St if out that part of town. So much coffee so little time !

Be sure to check out Tobys espresso bar in the CBD at 136 exhibition st. They have excellent espresso and the guys there are friendly and good for a chat. $2 espresso all day is a real bonus. Happy to meet up and put a face to the name TG :-)

to get to first pour you need to get the 96 tram from Bourke St and to get to North Melbourne youd take the 55 from Elizabeth St.
    Noted.
