You can use brew water. Let it steep 2-4 minutes.

brew tea properly using an espresso machine
Yes dont, boil the kettle. As Atillio mentions above closed boilers dont make as good a brew and re-boiled water can be a bit the same. Only use my hot water outlet is for on the 3grp is hot chocs and rinsing jugs. Water for coffee syphons or brewed coffee of any sort has the same issues.

Speaking of tea, had a really really nice pot at Taras Tea Room the other day, surprised me with the quality they had for a cheapo scones house, oh and its unlimited :P

Also, does anyone tea lovers here know how to brew tea properly using an espresso machine?

Good times... thought about emailing the show/producer?
    Would Media Watch be interested?

Geez the media are dodgy. Example #278:

I jump in the car this morning and the radios on Triple M (Brisbane). Marto (The Cage) has just started a rant about how much coffee drinkers piss him off. Pretty much word for word this article. No reference was given to the original author, in fact quite the contrary, it was clear Marto was portraying everything as his own thoughts. Pfffft...

    bag make the tea
Like instunt or coffee bags etc it is to do with the quality and freshness of the internal product and not the bag per say. Some Teabags are better than others but generally they are akin to preground "fresh roasted" stupormarket coffee. OK if you have to but there is a LOT better out there.

Why does having the tea in a bag make the tea any worse?

If it is the same as the loose leaf tea then whats the issue?

I dont know about the places you frequent
Not Tea Houses, but as is mentioned above all to frequently a Cafe serves tea in bag form gets shoved into water or into a pot of water and even as a non tea drinker this cheeses me off as much as being offered a $3 instunt coffee. I still like a Japanese or Chinese tea as part of the ritual of eating out sometimes and I have certainly never seen it made with a bag

I do get seriously "Pd" off when you go out and order a pot of tea and they bring out a pot...........WITH A TEA BAG IN IT!!!
Start asking first if their tea is loose leaf then therell be no surprises.
    Ask what brand etc.
Generally do what we coffee snobs do.
I have no problem in asking all the right questions and then telling them Ive decided against having their coffee.

My father was an excellent businessman.
He gave people what they wanted (at a price).

For example, he noticed once that people on our factory lunch runs were ordering buttered rolls and hot chips.
So he placed chip butties on the menu and priced it at a little more than the individually priced items.
Orders of chip butties soon totalled more than the previously ordered bread rolls and chips.

If you dont tell them what you want, they wont know (and wont change).
    Then its up to them.

I must say that I get the day started with a cup of tea as a ritual, and have done for years...nay decades (read becoming ol fart). I do get seriously "Pd" off when you go out and order a pot of tea and they bring out a pot...........WITH A TEA BAG IN IT!!! That is like ordering a coffee and they bring you out an instant!! Tea, like coffee, needs to be fresh to experience the best in it.

I always feel like a peasant there though - theres a big sign saying NO TAKEAWAY TEAS, but takeaway coffee no problems. I feel like they must think coffee drinkers belong on the street, being the bums that we are  ;D
