I took a chance and ordered a kg of what seems to be Rios top blend. I presume other snobs have tried it; any tasting notes youd like to share? or do you think I should fly in blind? cheers

Re: Rio Blend 64 anyone?
Suck and see Richard. Ive tried a couple of bags of Rio and havent been disappointed. It was a while ago so I cant provide any tasting notes other than it was good quality.
As you have already committed yourself, Im not sure why you need to ask.

Speaking only for myself, coffee, like many other fine things in life is subjective to ones own taste.
I wouldnt be influenced by others tasting notes, you decide if its a winner.

Re: Rio Blend 64 anyone?
This blend is excellent. I like a strong coffee, and Ive learnt that strength doesnt necessarily increase with a larger dose. Im lacking adjectives here to describe the taste. Rio says "round & full on the palette". I struggle with forming a language to describe coffee taste. When someone tastes wine and uses words like peppery, fruity, cherry etc I can search for these essences and usually find them. With coffee, especially good fresh coffee, I mostly taste chocolate or burnt caramel taste. Rio 64 is has a more dark chocolate aftertaste; very satisfying.
I wonder how others communicate what their palette is sensing?
