  • Re: coffee bean confusion

Hi everyone, just got a breville fresca and was wondering how much is a good price for a kg of coffee beans. I dont want anything too expensive but dont know what I should be paying. Something that tastes good too.
    Thanks in advance.

Have a look at Andys prices for roasted coffee in the Roasted Coffee section of Bean Bay at the top of the Left hand column. (And they include the faircrack donation)

around $35-$40/kg is the going price for good browns around Melbourne

Have seen them as cheap as $8kg at the supermarket though ;D

I find BeanBay compares favourably in price with any other bean of comparable quality. You can buy beans for a similar price from the larger cafe chains but IMHO they do not come close to BeanBay quality.
I try something different occasionally just to keep abreast of whats around but invariably come back here. More choice in the big cities of course.

          Something that tastes good?

          That can be subjective.

All I can suggest is only buy a weeks worth at a time.

If you are really keen try roasting your own.
