couriers from europe for large items

Is there any feasible way of getting a 2group machine (already packed) picked up from a sellers house in Europe and shipped here? With dhl it ends up being 1100ish or more which is too much. I would be willing to pay half that maybe... is that unreasonable? 

Anyone have any ideas?

And yes, this machine is worth the hassle

If it can be crated, you might try to have it shipped by boat. Check on services for shipping motorcycles. The seller may be able to drop it off at a port city, and you would pick it up the same way (at the docks), or have it shipped from there. In either case, crated for a machine that large going that far is the way to go anyway.

Forget the big international courier services... look for an air freight forwarder... should cost half, or less, of what DHL quoted you

Do you know anyone with a business account with any of the large couriers? The business prices are like 50% less than what an individual gets quoted. At least, this was the case when I had some bulky car parts shipped over from the US.

FYI it still cost me an arm and a leg! I cant imagine a coffee machine being any less than 1k!

I have business accounts with both FedEx and DHL and it will still be way too expensive. As stated before, go for an air freight forwarder. I had a coffee roaster air shipped all the way from Turkey for less than $500... and that was 200kg + crating, and keep in mind... a roaster is a hell of a lot larger than any 2 group coffee machine
