THE CoffeeSnobs membership card has a scale on it and the number refers to the colour of the beans

........how can the taste  vary compared to a big roaster when basic  fundamental  are the same?....
      Welcome to CS vivek.

Not trying to be facetious but only you will be able to answer your question about variation in "taste" after you roast coffee in your small roaster and then compare it to the same coffee you roast in your big roaster

I would say that except for maybe that your small roaster may be a revolving drum batch roaster, all the other very important design fundamentals between it and any number of commercial sized drum batch roasters will NOT be the same. Different design of drum internals and speed, resulting in different tumbling action...different burner systems, different rate of heating, different speed of hot air passing through, different way of hot air passing (convection) through, different rate of heat conduction due to different material and thickensss used to manufacture the drum, etc etc etc resulting in different rates of transfer of heat into the beans to promote the roasting process.....not the same at all from one brand / type / model / size to another.

I realise none of this answered your question, but I hope that helps for you to understand why I dont think your question can be answered easily

        hi Trentski,

Do you get the membership card when ordering green beans? The card is a great idea... I need to get one.

        Thanks,

All members of CoffeeSnobs are entitled to make a request for a free membership card from Beanbay.

It is not automatic, you have to ask for it.

Replacement cards cost $5. At the moment the cards are out of stock.

You can look at it at the following Beanbay site and print a copy if you like.
            CoffeeSnobs - BeanBay

The CS numbers go from 1, green beans to 12, charcoal.
