how much coffee beans and milk would i expect to need for 100 8 oz coffees ?
Depends on what size you dose your basket with really, but given that youre talking about 100, just multiply the amount of coffee you use for each shot by that. (somewhere around 1-2kg would be ballpark figure)
Milks a trickier one, given that its not something everyone has in their coffee... but given the concept that everyone has a flat white, Id suggest about 15 to 20 litres of the white stuff

Re: Take Away Coffee Mugs
If you are doing single shots per 8oz then I would think you need around 1kg (700g - 900g) beans and around 20litres milk.
Min 7g per shot x 100 shots = 700g
7oz milk x 100 = 700oz = 20.7 litres (less microfoam)

Re: Take Away Coffee Mugs
Interesting topic, a while ago I was asked to Barista a wedding. Besides it being awesome fun. The idea was like they had hired a cafe for their guests doing their coffee. Guests were told to order anything they would like to order as a normal caffe. 8oz, 12oz, caramel lattes, decafs etc. We had three grinders set up(blend,so and decaf) all sizes of t/a cups, tea you name it we had it. This was a very big wedding for a lawyers daughter in which we supply their law firm coffee. I didnt know what to expect at the time, 4 coffees maybe? No! I got slaughtered and we got so much more repeat business and leads to new cafes it wasnt funny. So I suppose you just dont know what to expect nowadays.

I used to cater and organise weddings - people get an idea in their head, and wont let it go no matter what the practicality of it is.Originally posted by 01323D372A0C147D530 link=1329683843/3#3 date=1329689057Try telling that to the GROOM! Shocked
If its an evening meal, the coffee take up is likely to only be 20% or so.
Exactly.Originally posted by 07323F380C103C35353636530 link=1329683843/2#2 date=1329686684If the wedding is being catered, why not just speak with the caterers? Presumably they will have access to appropriate crockery.

:-? Hmm...Id question whether anybody would want a mug of milky coffee after a wedding meal?
