    I really cant see any reason for getting this app other than to occupy a bit more iRealEstate. I dont need my phone to remind me when I want/need a brew.

    But here you go:

    Scientists have developed a free app that tells you the ideal time to take a coffee break to keep you in the "optimal mental alertness zone".

    The free Caffeine Zone iOS app, developed at Penn State University, is designed to help people determine when an extra jolt of caffeine may give them a mental boost and when it could harm sleeping patterns.

          I thought it was kind of interesting. Ive recently moved to decaf only after 3pm and aside from the first week (when I was falling asleep exhausted at 7pm) its made a remarkable difference to the quality of my sleep. Im sure a lot of people could benefit from knowing how much that afternoon coffee is affecting them.

            I know the feeling. My partner usually wont let me have caffeine after 4pm. Ive installed the lite version. I guess well see how it goes. =)

              I think it depends on the individual, my wife and I drink coffee (not decaf) in the late evening and neither of us have any problem sleeping.

                ^^ yeah, totally.

                I would never have trouble sleeping so long as i had my last coffee before about 7, but i would happily keep plugging away at whatever i was doing until 10-11pm without getting tired. that would leave me with only 5-6hrs to sleep and id pay for it the next day. now i feel like im a bit more connected to my fatigue levels - if im actually tired i know all about it so im more likely to go to bed at 9pm or whatever when i need to.
