  • My coffee tastes burned

Im not sure why, but the taste of my coffee is a little bit inconsistent. With the same roast and the same grind, the coffee can taste fantastic or it can taste burned and bloody terrible. Does this have anything to do with the brew tempreature? Or is it somthing else Im doing wrong.
    Thanks guys...

I have a Silvia and a Rocky doserless. I tamp with a thing I make at work. The tamper is a bit dodgy but it fits perfectly, the base is perfectly flat, the handle is a recycled machine part, its dinged up and pretty rough but it kills the one that came with the machine. Im still getting used to the grinder, and I can now understand why people say "its all in the grind man". All things being as equal as I can manage though, I still get that "burned" taste sometimes!?!?!.
I thought the brew tempreature was relevant and Ive been trying to tempreature surf, but Im no closer to understanding whats wrong let alone getting it purpously right.

If you still have problems we can narrow it down further.
