  • Bali Gunung Batur, Columbian & Ugandan

    Hi Andy, Ed & Graeme,

Being greedy Id like to make a request for not one, but three coffees.

    1. Bali Gunung Batur - This is a superb coffee, mild & clean-cupping, but with distinct character and complexity. It makes for an excellent base for espresso blending. I was hoping that we could have a repeat poll on this coffee.
P.S. - My cupping review for this coffee can be found at http://www.coffeesnobs.com.au/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=cupping;action=display;num=11103467 23

    2. Columbian - In the past I have bad-mouthed Columbian coffees for being too "generic" tasting. I have now seen the light, and see this coffee as an excellent addition to many of my espresso blends. I know we have had a recent poll for this coffee, and its now on Beanbay, but given the quantity Id like to purchase I was hoping for a repeat poll.

    3. Uganda Bugisu AA - This is Alan Frews "special of the month". Alan describes this coffee as "chocolatey". As I am always in the market for chocolatey coffees, I would like to request a poll for this coffee.
    P.S. - See Alans review at http://www.coffeeco.com.au/newsletter/april2005.html
    Thanx!

    Hi Avi, greedy is ok

Not too sure that the up-take on coffees that have just been polled would be high enough to warrant buying a bag but we can look at them again. Im sure people will reply to this thread if they agree with you.

The Ugandan was in the radar... Could be worth a look this month. Ill check price and availability with the suppliers next week. I know there were a couple of high grade Ugandan coffees doing the rounds.

        Gee MM,
You might have been better off starting one new topic with a wish list rather than resurrecting a bunch of posts over a year old.

Generally, Andy offers a few different coffees each month.
Usually around 3 new ones and some leftovers from the previous month. So sometimes there are as many as 6 different coffees on offer.

Andy evaluates a number of coffees regularly. And he tries to only offer up the best quality.
If one that people have requested pops up, and its good, chances are high that Andy will try to offer it up.

It always pays to pop a request in to see how many people might jump on board, but perhaps start a new topic and see who joins in the chorus.

I grabbed some of this coffee from Alan. It was the darkest roast Ive seen for a long time. The beans were quite oily. First shot lived up to expectations but it seemed to go downhill rather quickly. Still a very nice SO.

Id definitely be interested in some Ugandan beans as well. Whether this or some other high grade offering.
