      Re: Epic

I have been frequenting Epic since it first opened. Collectively I would have had at least 50 coffees there and I can happily say that not 1 of them has been short of absolute gold... Finally a leader and team that is so passionate about what that do. Nothing but professionalism pours through to the cup that touches my lips.

This is a must for everybody to experience on a regular basis.

The knowledge and enthusiasm that the staff hold is amazing, but what is even greater is the pleasure that a perfectly poured coffee brings to you, only which can be experienced at Epic.

The capricorn estate single origin is amazing as a ristretto with so much texture, body & sweetness being carried through the aroma and a lasting finish that could be described as orgasmic.

The Epic custom blend is so versatile it can be drawn as a ristretto, machiato even a piccolo latte.

For those of you that have not experienced epic... What the hell are you doing??? Get down there and pay Corey and his crew a visit and experience the magic that is EPIC.

      Tell everyone about this place.
      5/1297 Hay Street, WEST PERTH

Keep up the first class work guys.

                Re: Epic

Bought some of the custom blend beans from Epic today. Have a few friends coming over on the weekend so Ill put out a good brew for them.

Word around town is spreading about the quality of coffee at epic. Seems like every third person I speak to has experienced and or heard about Epic.

Seems like the number of regulars is fast growing and I can see why.

I personally rate Epic as the best coffee in Perth without a doubt.

Thanks Chris, we appreciate the kind words. And yes we certainly do try to push the boundaries of what we are currently seeing being served in WA cafes. You, along with Michael (grendel) were our original die-hard loyal customers. Thanks.

                  Cheers,
                  Corey

                    Chris,

That new SO is from Nicaragua I think. Ill ask Corey about its provenance next time I am in - or alternativey he can tell us about it if he catches this thread today. I tried a ristretto of it about an hour ago. I really enjoyed it, quite different to the capricorn - Ill need to have a couple more to become properly acquainted with it (I only had a single ristretto - should have made it a double but I was also having the affogato. . .).

I had been worried that the affogato might mask the coffee too much but the ice cream is not overly sweet and acts as a terrific contrast making it easier to identify some of the flavours (at least if you get to it before it all melts together!) so I think Ill have to try the new SO like that later this week.

                      Grendel,

Just tried another double ristretto of the SO about 30 mins ago. It is growing on me... I agree with you about it being different from the capricorn but this is still a real exciting coffee.

I also saw a group order 2 affogatos. They seemed well impressed.

They might have been from my office - I keep sending them up and watching them come back down with glazed eyes.

I was in there this morning for the first time and had (among other things) a double ristretto of the Nicaraguan - it seems I missed the Capricorn by a couple of days. The Nicaraguan was quite different to anything Ive had in Sydney before, so Im hoping to make another visit tomorrow morning to try it again.

Its late now so I cant quite recall any precise flavour notes, but the mouthfeel was almost like could chew it. Different, but I liked it. I just hope I wake up early enough to get in there tomorrow and back to my hotel in time to make my 9am meeting!

The Nicaraguan coffee on offer at Epic is the San Juan del Rio Coco. I had a double ristretto and a Piccolo Latte of it today and it is growing on me. Ive Googled the Cooeprative that produces the coffee and they appear to have both fair trade and organic certifications, so another bonus there as well - I would expect that kind of purchasing from Five Senses though.

Corey, you might want check taht out with 5-Senses and if I got it right I know a few of your customers would be interested to see that up on the board (Unless it is there and I missed it!)
