Re: Barista Courses in SA? Looking for Recommendat
http://www.baristaacademy.com.au/
The guy running the academy is Ben, who used to work at Core Espresso and is currently the secretary of AASCAs barista guild. I was lucky enough to work with him at Core in January, as well as on the barista guild stall at the ICTF this year and he does an awesome job.
Ben had the place set up with some la marzocco machines and mazzer grinders and Im pretty sure that they have a synesso and a swift grinder in there now, so you can be trained up on some of the best commercial equipment available, or you can just play around on it and have Ben train you on your own domestic machine.
(In hindsight, I guess that this post sounds a bit over-enthusiastic, but Ben is certainly one of my inspirations as a barista.)
Cheers,
Luca
