Re: Where To Buy Quality Ceramics?

Allegro Coffee in Newtown also have the brown Nuova Point cups I am told. This is good!

Any more sources for quality ACF, Nuova Point etc?

      hi guys,

i was checking out some catering shops around for some food grade cleaning products and stumbled upon some ACF tulip cups - 150ml and white. this was at Hotel Agencies in Nicholson St., Fitzroy, Melbourne. snapped up a few for myself but they seem to have a bit of stock. twas one left on the shelf but after i asked the lady came out with 2 boxes of them. cost is about $2.50 a cup. not sure if thats about the right price...

Are you sure you didnt get Australian Fine China which isnt ACF? I thought ACFs were a lot more than that.

I was pretty sure that the ACF ceramics were up around the $8 - $9 per cup.

hmm. looks like i got afc (aust fine china - not ACF that i posted previously). arg. apologies, seems like im dyslexic :|

but having said that. its not bad. i like the size - 5oz. / 150ml. seems like a perfect shape for single shot espresso milk based drinks. but heat retention may not be very good as the walls on the cup are thin. cheap. but may not be to your liking if youre a snob (which im sure we all are :P)

Sizes and looks are good, but I have heard from a few coffee nutters out there that they really dont hold the heat that well and tend not to bounce when dropped... Not saying that the ACF ware dose bounce all the time. I have personally seen an ACF espresso cup bounce along about 10 metres without a chip in it.

We just got our delivery of ACFs this week, just in time for the barista competition. Once all the excitement is over, well work out the price and start stocking the shelves at First Pour; hopefully they will be ready to sell next Saturday.

                  Cheers,

Re: Where To Buy Quality Ceramics?

Hey Snobs, does anyone know of anywhere (pref. in syd.) that sells ACF cups as singular units?
Everywhere I have looked so far only sells them as a half doz set.
Which is fine, but seeing as I want 70ml espresso cups, 160ml tulips and 220 or 280ml bowls, its going to end up breaking the bank if I have to buy 6 of each. :-/

Alternatively, is there anyone out there that wants to split a set of any of the above (in white or red)?
                      Thanks.

                      Matt
