  • Illy nude style cups

Id like to buy some clear, glass cappuccino cups and saucers, similar to the Illy nude espresso cups pictured below.

Anyone know where I can find something similar please?

Yes but they do not have handles...the Illy nudes are glass demitasse cups.

I think it might be worthwhile giving Illy a call. their website doesnt seem to be updated often and they might be able to get some in.

yea its quite possible that they were a total one off and impossible to get now. They are/were expensive, $150 for four but they are for keeps. some people like expensive jewelry. Id prefer some really nice cups.

Just on that note. If anybody want just two and I can get some Id be happy to go halves.

lol @ the obviously stale illy coffee being poured into the cup.

a quote from the website. "aged like fine wine."

Bodum have a few styles (in the veneziano range) similar to your post, but I doubt they are of the same quality as the Illy cups.  In fact, I have the bodum espresso cups similar to those below but with a smaller handle.  They are thinner than the illy cups with a wider lip.  Although they look nice, nothing beats ceramic.

The Latte Cups dont look to be too short on quality though :-?

                    Re: Illy nude style cups

Thanks guys...the bodum double walls are nice (I have a few for latte), but David is right, they dont have handles.

The Illy glasses were actually crystal and they never made them in a larger size than demitasse. Can still get them round the traps at times for around the $200 mark for 4 (yes, even with the very stale coffee).

The venezianos are close to what Im looking for ... if only the handles were more similar to the illys. Then again, I guess thats why theyre not illy.

                      Re: Illy nude style cups

Ive seen plenty of glass espresso cups in op shops but havent been tempted to buy,

Dont know about crystal ones though, but you never know your luck!

I once found a hand-blown Baccarat crystal Loius III cognac decanter in an op shop, numbered less than 100 in the original series, I paid $50 for it, but was told by a dealer that it was worth around $2,500 to a collector - and that was 20yrs ago!

Needless to say I decided to keep it and fill it up with middle of the range cognac, to whip out at dinner parties at the end of the night, to astonish me mates.

And the novelty still hasnt worn off!
