    Re: Beans in Brisbane

I would suggest talking to Johannes at Aromas, hes very knowledgeable and very friendly. Also owns a ducati of some sort

By the way, with one of the sunbeam grinders one of the best things that you can do is try several different blends from each roaster and move on to the next roaster to try their coffees. Just be sure to backwash thoroughly after each blend because you will get taste contamination.

You learn a lot about coffee and what it can and can be again because there are so many interpretations on blends and single origins. Most importantly, you should only buy what you will consume within the week because roasted beans are just like your fresh fruit and vegetables and will naturally deteriorate and stale, causing a loss of flavour. You will also find that different roasters will have different peak periods for their beans. After you do the Brisbane set you can also order from the various well-known roasters around the country to see what all the fuss is about

    Ant - on Mayfevers account.

Sueb, Id have to recommend using the brown bay for roasted beans. I think youll be surprised at how quick theyll come to you and how fresh they will be. I would be even so bold to say that theyd be guaranteed fresher than Merlos efforts even!

      Just a thought!
hmm, last time I got my beans from Merlo they had been roasted the day before.
