Re: good beans in melbourne please?
Contact Cisocs World of Coffee in Prahran. They have a decent wholesale trade which means they are roasting everyday, which means you have a better chance of getting fresh coffee. They supply down the penisula, but I am not sure where.
Im sure youll find you have almost to many choices soon if not already.......

Re: good beans in melbourne please?
Ive been to the Five Senses store in Mornington.
They are definitely open to walk in customers.
Drive to the carpark and their entrance is opposite the carpark, where you can see the little public toilet block.

Five senses - arent they based in W.A? Mind you, they do make a kick-butt A.M. blend!

Re: good beans in melbourne please?
Hope... I disagree.... Any Lavazza landed here is way too old.. once you pass the fresh stage 1- 4 weeks, youve got stale swillOriginally posted by Zedd link=1188646892/0#2 date=1190782912I have bought some ok (not TOO stale) Lavazza that way,.. which is good enough for a fix until some good stuff comes in. At least at a reasonably busy cafe your chances of getting fresher beans are better than the supermarket Deli!

Re: good beans in melbourne please?
I can verify that the Veneziano Estate beans are fantastic. Problem is, after that youd be hard-pressed to find or create a blend that can quite match that one.

Certainly stick to site sponsors... all the way,...
but just for the sake of options, I find Alan Frews roasts and blends quite ok to say the least. www.coffeeco.com.au
If your REALLY hard up and need beans RIGHT NOW cos you forgot to order in time DAMNIT... (this has happened to me quite a bit),..I go to my local decent cafe, and ask if theyll sell me a bag (Kg)... I have bought some ok (not TOO stale) Lavazza that way,.. which is good enough for a fix until some good stuff comes in. Im sure there are plenty of other options too, and it would also depend on your exact location,.. but try try try... and always support the ones that support CS!

Re: good beans in melbourne please?
Look to the left, coffeemumee! There are several options for you!
Our own Brown Bay and there are a couple of site sponsors who are roasting as well. Id have to recommend that you give them all a go!
Though my personal bias runs to Brown Bay and Veneziano...
