  • The Great Italian Café

I spotted a show about coffee on Optus pay TV the other week and last week managed to record the 4th episode, which Ive just watched.

Episode 4 was on Torino (Turin).
My great grandfather was from Turino, so when I travelled to Europe for the first time 4 years ago I made a point to visit.
Strangely, I spotted my fathers family name on the wall of a building in the middle of the city.
A strange Greek connection from the distant past.

Its a shame that my new found passion for coffee has come so recently.
On the other hand, now I have an excuse to go back.

You can see some snippets of the episodes here. http://www.thegreatitaliancafe.com/episode4mov.html

Possibly great grandfather on the Greek side.
      But yeah, amazing!
Its on a chemist building thats been there for around a century or more IIRC.
One of those markings like you get here with the year and building name.
      A strange coincidence indeed.
