What brings me here is we had a rat incident in our plantation this year - and the rats just virtually sucked the mucilage and left the skin on the tree and the bean (parchment) on the ground.

Not wanting to get stuck into these blokes but I do wonder if the bean has actually passed through their alimentary canal.
As I posted on an other topic...

The issue here is if it is REAL and or manufactured...

Two sites that have some level of credability are

1: http://www.animalcoffee.com/ Thier issue is that thay state that collect the droppings... Hence my other post as to some collectors facking the fecial matter..

2: http://www.arengga.com/ is another place... However it is interesting that they talk abou a natural harvest... Yet I came across this doc.. But it can not be authunicated...

OMG reminds me of a kitchen aid dvd I saw a couple of months ago, the swill they were producing I wouldnt serve to my mother in law but they were prattling on about how impressive the machine was.

OMG, I cant believe any of you watched it all the way through! once I saw the ground coffee being spooned out of a bowl and heard the 15 bar PROFESSIONAL pressure (as opposed to that amateur pressure were seeing so much of these days) I had to stop!

    **edit**

now that I have watched the whole thing its even stupider than I could imagine.

Dont forget to use a dirty jug for steaming the milk!

Then again, she drank it and stated how smothe it was.... Without blinking..

Blonding from almost the start so should have been quite bitter and stale ( open container of pre ground beans).

So I guess she has learnt to control her gag reflex...

And I guess he is sales and expects a commission on all the units sold...

Ive had some once as both espresso and a pour-over - and frankly - it tasted like what it was.

I think if you want to spend bucket loads of cash on coffee, youre better off spending it on genuinely great coffee such as Esmerelda Geisha, or a nice Beloya or Aricha, rather than a coffee that really is just relying on a marketing gimmick to convince people of its quality.

I had a cup one day in the Merlo Factroy in Brisbane. They were trying it out the front and offerred me one. Is was good, but not $50 a cup good. I think they said they paid $300 or higher per kg for it. Is was a year or so ago though.

anyone try this coffee? we can get it up in townsville.. but at $50 a cup... i dont know if I want to spend that much money...

I dont think my palate is developed enough to appreciate the extra $45 for a coffee...

i have the same reasoning for wine... a $35 bottle of wine to me will probably taste the same for me as a $900 wine i saw at ARIA restaurant...
