hehe, yeah but itll be ages, months, before you get ripe cherries, maybe April or after next year even.. I cant remember exactly how long and the length depends on a range of things.. climate, weather, tree health, recent stress to the tree.. and so on : )

    Heh, thanks everyone!
I didnt even know those facts about the bees, thanks Kosmo!

Yeah, theyre easy to grow, mine get a touch too much sun I think, hence the slightly burnt leaves.. other than that theyre great!

    They look good.

    Mine are growing nicely.
I recently had to remove their windbreak/shade as the were getting too tall for it.
It might be a while yet before theyre ready to flower though.

Your post prompted me to Google info on carpenter bees as I really did not know much about them
So that’s added to my knowledge base in my brain :

I have learned that males can’t sting but females can if provoked
They cause a lot of damage to wood because they drill long holes to lay there eggs

Nice bees on my coffee trees..

Hey I didnt know where else to put this so I started a new thread.. most people probably wont be interested but I found it nice so I thought Id post.

My trees are flowing at the moment and I discovered (heard from ages away) that I have a couple of Great Carpenter Bees visiting.. The largest native bee in Australia. They grow up to 24mm long. Anyway big buggers, they really seem to like the coffee trees, and I havent seen any other bees near them. Cute hey.
