Cant get enough of these beans at the moment and would love the chance to top up with some more kgs! Best SO experience in 08 - even better than the Waghi in my opinion! 8-)
Better single origin than the Wahgi is a BIG CALL.
The Rititi were really good value in an over priced Kenyan market too. I dont know if there are any more in the works but I agree they are worth me keeping an ear to the ground.
OK - happy to revisit the Waghi for another try, once the wonderful lingering aftertaste of the Kenyan finally subsides! A personal taste thing i guess, I find the Rititi just so well balanced, chocolaty and sweet, compared to the Waghi which has a bit more acidity and at times I have found a bit grassy......although when I blended it with some Boquete it was more to my liking!
On the subject of Kenyan, can I put my hand up for some next year AND some Malawi please. These blended together are fantastic...(and Im down to my last 1kg of each. )
ummm.... I can only suggest dont share the Malawi Geisha! I tried and tried to get some more but that was all there was.
Trust me, if they appear again Ill be on it in a shot.
ive been sampleing lots of different beans lately and was rumaging through my stash cupboard and found a sack of kenya aa needless to say i was quite excited and promptly roasted up a 1/2 kg batch rested it for a week and pulled a piccolo this morning..... man i love this stuff, it was not too bright but zesty enough to get the taste buds jumping, loads of fruit, spice and all things nice rounded off with an almost bitter sweet mocha aftertaste.... think ill have another one, right now. ciou for now.
Ray. 8-)
The Kenyans have been really thin on the ground so far, lots of different brokers have "expecting arrival" on their list for the new crops. I dont know if its a case of short supply or just slow shipping but I guess the good ones they at least a month away if not more.
When they land we will certainly be grabbing some samples!
