Looks good so far Den - a bit more character than a warehouse unit. Is the door on the right the front door?

Fireplace! I imagine it is inoperative (or local laws prohibit use), otherwise it could be a bit of a drawcard in winter with a few comfy armchairs and (naturally) a coffee table.

So Dudley will be installed in the basement? I guess if you cant use the fireplace, it might also be a convenient flue??
Id think the door on the right is Denniss "duck out the back for a quick smoke" door. ;D Probably taking the photo through the front glazing, eh Den?

Nice!! So much potential. And so little worry about damaging those floor coverings. :P

      Seriously, it looks pretty good.

Those floor covering wont be there long!

Dudley in the basement? Heaven forbid!

And yes, thats a side door leading to the pathway and toilet.

Dont know about the fireplace...might be a bit too cosy for some customers.

Nice job Den, happy to see that your business continues to grow and evolve.

I wonder if the move means I can get a great burger and a great coffee all within a short walk of each other ...

Den, lets think a bit laterally here mate ...

Make the fireplace a drawcard to customers - a few simple conversions and its a wood fired pizza oven! (subject, of course, to Sutherland Council approval :P)

In-house roasted beans would register if I were driving past ... but the addition of hand-made traditional pizzas made to order in front of me would make me screech, U-turn, run red lights, and create major traffic pile-ups, to get there.

              Crazy thought?

What, you mean coffee-flavoured pizza Tony?  ;D

I like the idea of oven roasted pizza but I dont think Den would want his business relegated to the status of pizza joint. I know roughly where the new place is and it is within staggering distance of a large pub IIRC. Perhaps not the sort of clientele Den might want to encourage, but not for me to say, of course

Im still trying to work out whom Den would prefer not  to get too comfy in front of a fireplace???

Yeah, yeah, crazy thought - but any other brilliant ideas out there to utilise the fireplace apart from its original purpose? :-?

Maybe Dens got something in mind ...

                      Re: Wheres My CuppaCoffee?

I already suggested it could be used as a flue for Dudley (if the chimney is open) or...

...another crazy thought - the first fireplace roaster operating something like a BBQ roaster. You could add a new dimension by selecting various wood to impart an additional Aussie bushfire aroma.

Dont worry Den - this isnt a serious suggestion. But you never know - the idea may not be that ridiculous. Whats coffee roasted over a fire like (as is done, no doubt, in parts of Northern Africa)?

                        Re: Wheres My CuppaCoffee?

The fireplace is boarded-up, probably because the chimney stack hasnt been cleaned in decades, and honestly, the mantle is pretty crappy.

A couple of people suggested using it to flue Dudley, but again, I think thats more trouble than its worth.

If it were re-commissioned as an open fire Id be worried someone would burn themselves.  And if I were to instal something safer, people might not want to leave their seats and go home.  I dont intend to set up a gentlemans or ladies club! ;D

Oh, and I think the only pub nearby is a couple of km away Steve - would be a bit of a stagger!

Ohh, cmon Den - wheres your entreprenuarial spirit fella?

Its an asset ... so use it! Dont relegate it to hide behind a piece of chamfer-board just yet.

From your pic, move that extinguisher near it to circumvent woosy customer concerns about safety, cordon off a 2 metre circumfrence, and make the bloody thing into a pizza/bread oven.

                          Crazy thought?

I used to have an Endeavour which was very appropriate for those waters, but alas, I have it no longer.

Maybe one day I might be able to get a hobie cat - theyre a heap of fun if you keep the mast out of the water. :-[ ;D
