Just arrived back from HK where, predictably, coffee is bad news. They say its because there are no roasters in HK and so beans are degraded during importation. Maybe a new business opportunity for someone?
A cafe that can pull italian style espresso or capa is indeed hard to find in HK, I spend many days in HK just to look for a good cup of cappacinno the closest one I can find is COVA in festival walk in Kowloon Tong. HK is more into Syphon & filter coffee, I forget to said there are few COVA in Kowloon I been to three already, only the one at Festival Walk has reasonable quality, there are private roasters in HK as well, at least I managed to find one before I returned back to sydney three weeks ago, he has a small production, roast on order type of operation.
