ts a franga for your grinder! The stock snout is too short and leads to grinds being flung everywhere.Sunbeam have made a kinked silicone tube that slides over the snout to address this.I think theres a photo of one on this site actually. *looks around* Ahh, here tis.Courtesy of TassieBean.
Casey.

somewhere in the 12-16 band
Ive bought two EM480s, 1 for French Press at home and one for my parents as a gift. Theirs worked straight out of the box but mine needed THREE spacers to get anywhere Hope you have better luck.

Regardless of the machine youre using "baz" if you start off with coffee ground so that it feels like fine table salt when rubbed between your fingers, that should get things started for you....
thanx mal will keep that in mind.

I have found myself somewhere in the 12-16 band for espresso grind, and never outside it. Use this as a starting point as per the manual.
thanx for that, im gona try and keep it within that range, im guessing you use the beans from beanbay too. ill be using the espresso wow roasted whole bean (should be on arrival soon)

just with the grinding (got the em0480), ive noticed that its got something like 20 different grinding settings. does anyone know what i should have that setting on to match with the em6910 machine???
Hi Baz - the espresso machine is irrelevant but the manual for the grinder suggests 12-16 for an espresso grind.
I had read loads in here about the EM0480 before I got mine, with snobs having trouble, needing spacers etc but the common thread I saw through that was to set it at 10.
So first go I set it at 10......on the EM6910 "shot clock" I was straight off the dial and nothing, I mean nothing coming through the pf.
Wound it back to 16 and bang!! In the zone. Depending on the age of the beans, temp, humidity etc I have found myself somewhere in the 12-16 band for espresso grind, and never outside it. Use this as a starting point as per the manual. Oh yeah, ring Sunbeam customer service and get the snout for it too, part number EM048X. Trust me, you need it.
Hope this helps
Chris
...who really feels like he lucked out with both devices working as per SB manuals...

png, sulawesi, peru, all really nice with milk in my opinion. It will be more about if you can make a good coffee, than how good the coffee beans are (given you are buying them off beanbay!).
