    They are tempered then.
    The best thing about when they break is that the little pieces are less likely to cut you.

      I got a set from Woolworths a year or so back.
      They are tempered, I found out when one hit the floor, "BANG" then all you have left is a s@#t load of small pieces

      They are good though

      Im thinking about getting a set in a different size.

          So my find of my Palaks glasses in a thrift shop was not so unique after all
          I still like them very much as they feel good in the hand and easy to drink from

          At least I now know they are tempered glass

              The PALAKS glassware is a borosilicate process like PYREX & DURALEX. IMO ..... the best quality glassware.
