I had an idea recently about CoffeeSnobs, and how I like the idea of a Forum - becuase it encourages discussion etc.
However - there are several things that are very frustrating about a forum - mainly, if you know there is something about the place that you once read - you have to search for it....
So - I thought about the idea of setting up a CoffeeSnobs Wiki, so that people can post articles that tend to evolve out of forum threads?
I was thinking that the articles section of the site would contain information sorted by the same categories that the Forum does...
ie.. There could be a "General /\/ General Coffee Related" category, as well as a "Brewing Equipment /\/ Brewing Equipment - Midrange ($500-$1500)" category. This way people could look for articles for their machines etc.
In particular I thought this would be of use for - Specific machine articles. Specific machine mod articles.
A couple of things made me think of this idea - Gronking your coffee machine, and, Building a Coretto. I know there are the "Important Thread" parts - but I think it could be possible to refine things into articles.
Then an article may be a combination of the first post in a thread, but edited by the person to include some of the tips/mods others have included in the discussion. They could also include a link to the forum topic for comment - and continued discussion.
Just an idea anyhow.
