Ive had the Bodum now for around 2 months, used on an almost daily basis to take my coffee to work, and Ive not had an issue with it yet.

    Cant recommend it highly enough!
Hoyks - I ended up buying a Bodum too, although it looks slightly different to the one you pictured below (mine has a handle but otherwise looks the same). I can also recommend the Bodum mug; it might not keep your coffee hot all day long, but it is still drinkable after 90 minutes plus.

      Are any of these mugs
      1) completely seal & leak proof
      2) and will fit neatly in a ladies handbag

I think what you are after there is a can!

Even if one of these things was advertised as completely seal and leak proof, I wouldnt trust it to put in any kind of bag. Too risky to have an entire cups contents make an escape.

As stated before, Ive been rotating between 2 Thermos travel mugs on a daily basis with no issues.
They both go through the dishwasher after nearly every use. Ive had no issues with the lids, or holes blocking or parts coming away etc.
All previous mugs I had used (including a Thermos brand one) had issues of some sort. Mostly, not liking the dishwasher.
Mine have gone without issue for well over 8 months now.
One of them might require replacing because I dropped it on concrete last week and fractured the plastic shroud on the bottom, but for $10 each on special, I think theyve done a super job.

This is not the exact mug, but very close to how it looks.

            Oooops
            Did not see that coming

It is of course for my beautiful wife as she is a coffee snob by association with me

She will not buy bad coffee any more at or close to work because its not as good as the home brew.

I did start a post on slim one cup Thermos a little wile ago but I got only 1 reply

We do have a Thermos mug but it leaks

                Re: Which thermal mug?

Ive taken the JOEmo on motorcycle rides in a pack on the back of the Moto Guzzi without leaks, so its pretty good. V-twins do vibrate a bit. It does have a separate screw-on lid for transport.

Whether it would fit in a handbag depends on the size of the bag. It is 20 cm tall, just under 7 cm in diameter and holds 315 ml.

If you want to put in a handbag, or any bag for that matter, Id go for one of the thermos "soup". Small with screw sealed top with cup as the lid. You just cant drink from them on the go.

                    Re: Which thermal mug?

At the risk of mentioning the unmentionable coffee company, I picked up a great travel mug from Starbucks a couple of years ago - it was a combination - ceramic inner cup, encased in a stainless steel outer case (around the lower half). Excellent insulation properties, no impact on taste whatsoever.

It was however, in a US store (hey, I was desperate!) so hopefully you might find one locally. Just wear a trench-coat and dark sun-glasses when you go in so no-one recognises you

LOL. Youre probably not at risk of any fellow CSers recognising you, so you can probably safely ditch the coat and sunglasses

Sounds like a great travel mug, though. Never seen one with a cermaic inner lining before - sounds ideal!

I have a patent pending on my new material, cermic. Cermaic is a cheap knockoff.
