    Re: Sunbeam sucks!

Rocky, I can not agree with you more!!
They can do better a lot instead of did something like this.
    However, they choose not to....
And another thing is as a chinese Taiwanese people with bad English ability while still studying.
I bet the Sunbeam service manager "Welly Khouw [ch35377][ch20553][ch21033]" must know how to speak politely.
As our Chinese culture always a bit too polite than not polite enough.. I reckon they just do want to be polite to this forum...

Only if the Sunbeam not only move the factory to mainland China, also move their service office to China as well....
They should move to India actually, although my poor English listening ability sometimes can not understand the India phone service, at least they are all polite people...

These days a lot of companies are a bit over-sensitive (I didnt say precious) about their intellectual capital even when the average intelligent person would think (correctly) that its significance was absolutely zero.  They have their reasons, although the ones given in this instance do not seem very applicable to the case in point.
The request could have been done worse (legal threats) but also could have been done better.  Welly could just have said "we are a bit sensitive about any of our copyright material being published by others in the public domain, sorry, its company policy, could you remove it please."

I just saw an ad for a Sunbeam (6910) on Channel 7 while watching Sunrise.
Also just heard Kochie mention they are sponsoring a competition.
does it come with a years supply of coffee like the Faemas that Today on 9 gave away a little while ago?

I entered to win the machine, was never sure what Id do with a pallet of ground coffee though ...
Compost and I understand there are a few flowers that like it and it helps to give a strong colour.. Better than drinking it

Knowing how google ranks this site with keywords I wouldnt be surprised if when you google "Sunbeam" within the next month this thread comes up with the title "Sunbeam Sucks" in the top 5.  ;D

Hey! If I was restrained then I wouldnt have thousands of dollars of coffee-making equipment, and Id think that instant was coffee.

I am unrestrained and proud of it.

Maybe "unrestrained" or "undignified" might be better.

I am disappointed at the unprofessional way some on this forum have reacted.
I dont think "unprofessional" is the right word.

I certainly dont come here to be "professional"; I save that for work.
Here I like to think I can relax.

    Re: Sunbeam sucks!

I found this interested thread until Now!!
In my previous several post, as a second Sunbeam EM6910 and EM480, I got tons of help from people on this thread
This help are which I could not get any from Sunbeam service due to I am a 2nd user.
I complain it a lot at beginning  until get good advice from people like AM etc...

Back to what happen about this thread..
I think since the Sunbeam or the service manager has known there is service manual here, they must know there are lots of people help Sunbeam user and advertise the good of this machine, then why they never show up say sorry for they poor design or misleading or unknowledgeable users manual or service at first time.
And say thank you to these people who support their product and try to explain every small problem may happen to every user.

But they end up to jump out and argue the service manual, just because the manual is sensitive for business...ooxx...

If they thought this manual will lead to some dodgy copycat in China to produce the copy one, they should think about it before they set the manufacture in PRC.
Even if some dodgy people really want to copy it, it will be easier just buy one and take it apart, they even have the material to make a model.

Talk about it may lead to some people take advantage from Sunbeam or whoever.
But what if this thread or this enthusiastic experience user are not exist, how about some other coffee machine mechanic  may charge hundred bucks from these EM6910 consumer by just clean the pipe or adjust some part.
Is it just because they have the service manual from Sunbeam, then they can take advantage from consumers?

I believe the service manual can just help consumer to deal with some small problem by DIY, but the authorized  mechanic still can make money by repair the big problem.

Just like the car marketing, once the service manual is not unachievealbe, these mechanic know they should be honest and can not bullsh!t consumer.
I believe its a positive competition between DIY and authorized mechanics.
Of course, only except when manufacture authorize some people to bullsh!t consumer by having the mystery service manual.
